Miss Madeline Elizabeth finally makes her grand enterance...

Madeline Elizabeth McDonald
Born 11/30/09
10:50 pm
7 lbs 7 ozs
20 1/2 inches long

24 hours of labor and 18 minutes of delivery later, she is finally here!!!

I love being a Mommy and Chad is an amazing Daddy! We both could not be happier!

I can't believe that she is finally here!
The wait was long, but the pregancy seemed to fly by, as strange as that sounds.

Madeline sure does love her Daddy!

At the hospital...

This was actually Madeline's weight the day we left. We were not able to get a picture of her when they first put her on the scale, so I settled for this!

Madeline's first visitors

Madeline had a very busy second day of life as her Grandparents on Chad's side came to visit.

Madeline meets MiMi (Chad's mom) for the first time. I think it is love at first sight for both!

PopPop Ron certainly has a special touch with this little lady. Madeline settled in for a nice little nap in his arms!!!
Great Grandma McDonald was very excited to meet and hold Madeline. She waited 9 very long months for this moment and loved every minute of it!

The 4 generations of McDonalds: Grandpa Clifton (Chad's Dad), Great Grandma Dot, proud Daddy Chad and little Miss Madeline...

Introducing...Madeline Elizabeth McDonald

It may have taken us a while to get it together, but she is worth it! Enjoy our blog and please be patient with us (a little longer) as we figure out the blog and find the time to keep it up! We wish you were all here to meet her in person, she can't wait to meet all of you!

Coming home from the hospital

It has been a long couple of days for all of us, but we are home at last! This is Madeline's favorite place to be. As soon as Daddy comes home, the two of them take a nap in Daddy's chair while Mommy gets a little time for herself!

Grandma Mary comes to visit and help us out...

Grandma and Madeline love to cuddle. This has been a huge help to Mommy as it gives me time to rest and get the things done (ok, so maybe I rest more then do things like send email with pictures attached, but the thought is definitely there!!!) that I need to do!

Braxton and Madeline

Braxton loves his new little sister, though he is not always sure what to make of her and the noise she can make when she really gets going. When she cries, Braxton goes over to her and lays his head on her lap. I think this is his way of comforting her. When she is sleeping, he gets up to check on her at regurlar intervals. We can already tell that they are going to be great friends and that he will be very protective of her! We couldn't ask for anything better!

Braxton is very good about sharing his Daddy with his new little sister. Before Madeline, Braxton used to be the one to sit with Daddy in his chair when he got home. Now Braxton waits patiently as Madeline takes her turn first, and then he gets his time in Daddy's lap (I know, a little big to still be a lap dog, but what are you going to do!)!!!

Braxton was not happy with Grandma and Momma that we made Madeline so mad taking Christmas pictures. It was hard to get him out of the shot as he kept wanting to be near her when she was crying. It is very sweet to see the two of them. I can't wait until she is older and they can really bond and have a playful relationship!

The many faces of Madeline as she wakes up...

One morning Madeline and I were being Lazy Dasies and slept in (of course we will not mention the total of 1 hour and 26 minutes of sleep we got combined through the night!!!). As she started to wake up, I had some fun with the camera. I wish I would have been quicker thinking and took a video. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen...what do you think?

So cute, sound asleep!

Kisses to you, Mommy!

It was the funniest thing...
Do I really have to get up, Mom?

Just 5 more minutes...please!
Ha Ha, I win again...

Ok, I am up! Now what?
