Our Day at the Pumpkin Patch

Pigs AND Pumpkins

As soon as we arrived at the pumpkin patch, Maddie spotted the animals and had to have a look. She kept tapping her chest (sign language for Please) and pointing at the pigs.
I think she not only wanted a closer look, but to take one home!!!
She got her wish...well at least to get a closer look...Thank you Aunt Jamie!

I think Maddie would have gotten right down in there with the pigs had we not held her back. She loves to "ride" Braxton, and these pigs looked to be about the right size as well!

Time to get some cute pumpkin shots...Maddie had other ideas. I think she was showing me that, "those kids don't have to sit for pictures, they are just having fun!!!"

The sign says "Pumpkin Patch," why aren't we going there?

Staged photo shoot with pumpkins

Please, NO photos...
Maddie is one of the only kids I know who prefers NOT to have her picture taken. She was doing everything in her power to look everywhere but at Mommy. She would be smiling and having fun, until I pulled out the camera...go figure!
Ok, so this is kinda neat!

I think I can talk in this one, reminds me of my cell phone!

Not gonna look...

No fair bringing Daddy into the picture to try and get me to smile...

Pony Rides

Maddie finally gets her chance to ride a real live pony.
She LOVES her play ones at home!
Very fun...

Oops...

Hang on Daddy, this ride is kinda bumpy!

Waiting for her first Pony Ride

I may be getting ready for my first Pony ride, but I am still not going to look at the camera!

Daddy, I like them all, but can I ride that brown one over there?

I think I should wear my shades so I can see where the horse is going!

Hay ride to Pumpkin Patch

We all got on the hay wagon for our ride to the Pumpkin Patch.
Maddie is fascinated by the straw...another first!

"If I play with Mom's glasses I won't have to look at the camera...

Daddy and Maddie are both very excited to be getting close to the Pumpkins!!!

"Mom, please put down the camera, I see the one I want...over there!"

How do I choose a pumpkin

"This one is good, but wait..."

"I think I see the one, look, over there..."

Picking the Perfect Pumpkin

Let's see, it's about this big...let me go ask Daddy if that will work?

Interesting stem...

This could be dangerous...

Nice, but not quite what I am looking for...let's move on!

Now, this one has potential. Good size, nice stem quality...

Pumpkin comparisons

Now, here are two interesting pumpkins...
(For someone not as strong as Maddie, you can alwys use a two-handed lift
to pick up and move your pumpkin!)
A little closer inspection...

In comparing these two pumpkins, this one is solid and orange.
It is a good sturdy pumpkin that I am sure will taste good.
Let me put them closer...oops, maybe too close!

Did you see the SIZE of THIS ONE?
What do you think Mom and Dad?

Narrowing it down to 4 pumpkins

Mommy's little pumpkin, Maddie...So cute!

Please, just one more and I promise I will pick...

Mom, is that the tractor we need to catch to get these back to the farm?

You said I didn't have to pose anymore.

I really think that is the tractor we need to catch...

At last I have found the ONE

What you don't see in this picture is the little blond boy who was with his parents picking out a pumpkin also!!!

Hummmm, so many choices...

After lots of debate and careful thinking (and a very cute pose)...

Ok, I have found the one I want, let's go!

But Dad, Braxton is going to want one too...

Maddie's Pumpkin

Drum roll please...
And the winner is...
Yeah, I did it!!!

On one hand, that one is it, but...
Have we checked out this one?

This is the one, I am sure!

Wow, that was exhausting!
Who knew picking a pumpkin could be so much work?
Now...did I make the right choice?
